Protocol-based mod for RA3
Red Alert 3: War of Doctrines Mod is a free mod that introduces a new set of rules for your next game of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3. This fanmade content from indie modder Nope.mp4 changes your approach to strategy as it focuses on the selection of your Top Secret Protocols and formulating a plan around it.

Playing in a reversed order
Experienced players can treat Red Alert 3: War of Doctrines Mod as a reversed version of the base game. In the original RA3, the player-commander unlocks protocols after purchasing them with security points. In this mod, however, the protocols come first before the entire 4X strategy experience. From a pool of 15 protocols, you choose five upgrades for your base from five active skills, five passive bonuses, and five units.
The mod already promises a wide range of gameplay possibilities. Aside from the base RA3, it also includes content such as units, buildings, and technologies from the standalone expansion pack, RA3 - Uprising. Furthermore, it reworks these units to ensure that your choice of protocols could still result in winnable scenarios through a careful rebalancing of units across the different factions.
Like most mods, it also requires the base game in order to play. Also, with its massive rework of the fundamental rules of the game, it has quite a steep learning curve, especially because existing players will need to overcome what they already know about the game. Other than that, it has minor texture loading glitches that rarely affect gameplay.
